Find Your Fit

Last Friday, Jacqueline and April volunteered at a small group planting day with Galveston Bay Foundation at the Trinity Bay Discovery Center in Beach City, Texas. They were able to help restore wetland habitat on the coast by planting smooth cordgrass (Spartina alterniflora). Coastal wetlands are beneficial because they can protect inland areas against storm surges, stabilize sediment to reduce erosion, provide habitat for animals, and remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it in the soil and roots of the wetland plants. Spirit is proud of our team members for taking their time to help restore the Texas coastline!
