In 2005, Jess McAngus and Brad Herrin wanted to form a different kind of environmental consulting firm – one not only built on excellent quality but also emphasizes personal relationships and a commitment to meaningful environmental work.
Though we started with only four air quality consultants, today Spirit consists of a diverse team from multiple engineering disciplines and environmental specialties, that works in a broad range of industries across multiple media. Our People are technically proficient, entrepreneurial, curious, driven, and above all, committed to Servant Leadership. We believe what makes us especially unique is the common goal to put others first in the pursuit of achieving the best possible solutions for our client-partners.

Jess unexpectedly passed away in 2016. Of our core values, he unapologetically favored Excellence. His legacy lives on in our commitment to Excellence, as we continue to set the “gold standard” in our industry.
